Hi, and welcome! I created this website to support students, especially those who, like me, didn’t have all the answers when they started their journey toward a career in dentistry.

I’m a first-generation college student, a first-generation immigrant, and the first in my family to pursue a health-related field. I spent much of my childhood in the hospital due to a weak immune system and many other health issues. I had insomnia, hence I could not concentrate or remember things as easily as many of you reading this. I came to the U.S. under difficult circumstances and was unable to speak a single English word, later becoming a single immigrant navigating everything on my own. During college, I lost financial support and had to work full-time to survive, all while studying and trying to stay afloat academically. I never had time to breathe or to strengthen my application to dental school.

I didn’t have time for campus activities, social events, or enjoying the “college experience.” Most of my days were spent juggling work and study, with no guidance, and often… no sense of direction. However, I never lose hope.

If you’re reading this and feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or isolated. I’ve been there. We will go through the hard part together!

That’s why I built this website. I wish I had a resource like this when I was a freshman; something simple, supportive, and practical. My journey hasn’t been the easiest, but I hope my experience can give you a clearer picture of what it takes to prepare for dental school and the belief that it’s possible, no matter where you’re starting from.

You’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

“Every single one of us will have our life interrupted, whether it is financial or diagnosis from the doctor; whether it is trauma, heartbreak, or just as simple as a single bad exam that shakes your confidence and drags you down. These moments hurt. But they don’t have to define you. We need to find our way forward. Everything that did not break you will strengthen your personality and bring you empathy toward others! You can be held or trapped by the worst thing in life, You can freeze, do nothing, and let them take everything from you. or you can find a way forward.”
